Do I need a special vacuum when I buy my new carpet

“Hi, Don Lovato, back again. This one’s a really, really important question that people should be asking and they’re not asking enough of. Do I need a special vacuum if I select an ultrasoft carpet? At this time while we were shooting this video, there is a carpet called Mohawk SmartStrand Silk. It’s an ultrasoft carpet. It’s unbelievable. It’s beautiful. It’s luxurious. It’s “to die for” according to most of our clients. And even to us, because it’s so, so soft and so durable and stain resistant. Regardless, this carpet is so soft that whenever you try to vacuum it, the vacuum will literally collapse right into it, and it doesn’t allow the vacuum to move, it doesn’t allow any airflow. It’s very difficult.

So you need a special vacuum for that. They’re pretty inexpensive and so that’s the good news, and we have a list of them right on our website.
